In 1846, 3 1/2 acres were purchased
by a group of Catholic men for use as a burying ground.
In addition, John & Henry Frey, sons of Joseph Frey,
donated part of their property as a burying ground.
St. Jacob's was an active cemetery as late as 1875.
St. Jacob's was closed in 1910 and relatives and friends
were advised to remove loved ones Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The property was sold in 1911.
