11 May 1862 LSU source lists 1st Lt Co K 2nd Mississippi Reg. Originally buried Camp Dennison, moved to Camp Chase Cemetery. Information from Dennis Ranney indicates this may be Pvt J.R. Turner, Co K 2nd Mississippi Infantry, shot at Shiloh, taken to Camp Dennison, died 12 May 1862. The issue of concern is the 2nd Mississippi Infantry was not at the battle of Shiloh. This could also be Pvt I.R. Turney, Co I 2nd Confederate Infantry. That unit was at Shiloh and he is listed as being killed at the battle. Camp Chase
